This post is not going to be about anime stuff unfortunately. It is about a book that I have to read over the summer vacation. It is a novel written by Bobbie Ann Mason, about Samantha Hughes who is in search of the truth about the Vietnamese War. It is a book divided into three parts. The first part is about Sam, her uncle Emmett and her grandmother who go to Washington D.C to visit the Vietnam Veteran's memorial. The second part is a flashback, about the summer before the trip do D.C. It gives background information about Sam's parents, Dwayne and Irene, since Sam never got to meet her father because he died when she was still young. The third part is where they reach the memorial in Washington.
I have only read the first chapter so far, so I can't really comment on it. There has also been a film produced in 1989, directed by Norman Jewison from which Bruce Willis has won a nomination for Golden Globe best supporting actor.
